After graduating from Boaz High School in 1980 and from college in 1984 I began my teaching career at Guntersville High School.  In 1986 I moved to  Douglas High School where I spent sixteen years teaching math, chemistry, physics and Spanish. Currently, I am in my thirtieth year of teaching.  In addition to teaching at BHS, I also teach at Snead State Community College and through ACCESS Distance Learning including both online and video-conferencing classes which allows me to work with students statewide.  I received my Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics and chemistry from Jacksonville State University as well as a Spanish endorsement and a Master’s Degree in mathematics and chemistry from the University of Alabama. The highlight of my teaching career occurred in May 2011 when I was named a top five national finalist on the Live! With Regis and Kelly show where my Boaz High students and I were featured during Top Teacher Week.
