College Application Campaign Week
November 3rd-7th, 2014



November 3
– representatives from Snead State, Gadsden State, Wallace State, and Northeast Alabama Community Colleges will be in Mrs. McCullars’/Bates-Quick’s and Mr. Gaskin’s rooms to talk with seniors about admissions, scholarships, programs of study, etc.

November 4 – faculty at Boaz High School dress in college/university apparel and answer questions about their college/university experiences. See the signs outside their classrooms to know which colleges/universities they attended.

November 6 – representatives from Jacksonville State University, Troy University, University of Alabama, Auburn University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, University of Alabama at Huntsville, University of South Alabama, University of North Alabama, and Mississippi State University as well as military recruiters with the National Guard, Army, and Marines will be set up in the old boys’ gym for a college/military fair. Seniors  and juniors will visit during their AO/PP with their homerooms on an assigned schedule.

Freshmen and Sophomores will be listening to former BHS students Hailey Scott and Caleb Williams discuss their college adventures during the morning hours. Freshmen will be from 9:10-9:50 and Sophomores will be from 10-10:40.

November 3 – 7: The computer lab in the Pirate Gym will be open daily from 8-10 a.m. and 12-2 p.m.
for seniors to come in and complete college applications online. Please make sure you have the information you need. If you complete the packet you received on October 15, you should have all the info you need!
Once you have applied, please sign the “I applied to college!” list in the computer lab, get your “I applied to
college!” button, and write your name on the design for the “I applied to college!” bulletin board in the library hall.
If you have already completed your college applications, please come and sign the list in the computer lab with the college(s)/universities(s) you have applied to and get your button and design for the bulletin board.  You can also apply for your pin number to complete the FAFSA during this time.

OUR GOAL IS TO HAVE 100% OF OUR SENIORS COMPLETE AT LEAST ONE COLLEGE APPLICATION!
